Edinburgh Wedding | City Chambers Ceremony | Louise + Kieran

When I was first approached by close friends of Louise and Kieran to create a bespoke, surprise wedding package for their legal ceremony, I couldn’t have been more moved by such a beautiful gift, or excited at the prospect of surprising this lovely couple ahead of their big day! Having already planned their spectacular wedding party in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, Louise and Kieran had everything in place to legally tie the knot at Edinburgh’s City Chambers prior to their day — or so they thought. After finding out I’d be there to capture the ceremony, Kieran and Louise couldn’t have been more excited, and grateful for their friends thoughtful gift. With such amazing energy from them and all the ideas flowing, I couldn’t wait for their ceremony to come around.

The day was filled with the most beautiful moments and thoughtfully-considered touches; a vintage Fiat 500 wedding car (echoing their Italian adventure ahead and a surprise from Kieran to Louise on the morning) the most stunning flowers by Workshop Florals, a quiet stroll through Edinburgh’s ‘secret garden’, and a pair of killer heels that I still can’t get over. Louise and Kieran’s day showcased their individuality not to mention celebrated their love in true sentiment and style.

Couple Session | Pentland Hills, Edinburgh | Chris + Karen

Where do I even begin with these two?! I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Chris and Karen after they won my very first giveaway over on Instagram, where I offered one lovely couple a free photoshoot, just for fun!

After driving through a pretty wild storm (read this as 'typical Scottish weather’), we met safely in the picturesque Pentland Hills regional park. This had been on my wish list of locations to shoot in for a while, and I couldn’t have been any more delighted when Chris and Karen told me they were huge lovers of the outdoors — they loved the idea of a hike through the Pentlands with me and my camera!

I absolutely adore capturing couples in nature, so this shoot was a real pleasure for me, not to mention Chris and Karen’s contagious energy and chemistry between one another. Keep scrolling for some smiles, laughter and of course, aaaall the love.

Styled Bridal Session | Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh

I absolutely love when ideas come to life, and this shoot was exactly that! After finding a dress that I instantly fell in love with, it was time to bring the concept to life. I knew exactly who would be able to make that happen.

After many months of swooning over her stunning arrangements, I got in touch with the incredibly talented Aline of BBonnie Flowers. I just knew she’d instantly understand my vision and make the most beautiful bouquet. Other than a very quick brief of “wild, earthy tones and some burnt peach”, Aline had full creative license over the bouquet — Aline really knows how to make the most gorgeous, unique flower arrangements and offers a personalised service for weddings.

No bridal session is complete without a gorgeous bride, so cue the beautiful Stephanie Archibald to make this all come to life! We had the loveliest morning photographing at Edinburgh’s Arthur’s Seat as well as the city’s coastal town, Portobello. The mist surrounded us the entire morning making for some dreamy, atmospheric backdrops.

Want me to capture your wedding or elopement? I’d love to hear from you! Send me a message here — let’s make magic!

Portrait Session | Eden Locke, Edinburgh | Caoilfhionn

It’s been a dream of mine for a while to photograph some portraits in the beautiful foyer of George Street’s Eden Locke, so when Caoilfhionn got in touch with me to shoot some portraits in a relaxed setting in town, I knew exactly the place.

Caoilfhionn and I had so much fun shooting in this gorgeous foyer! The leafy green plants and mint-washed walls made for a beautiful backdrop. The original Georgian windows meant natural daylight drowned the room, so we took full advantage.

Interested in a portrait session with me? I’d love to hear from you! Send me a message here to get things started.

Couple Session | Stockbridge, Edinburgh | Abi + Darren

It’s no secret that Edinburgh’s charming Stockbridge neighbourhood makes for a pretty gorgeous setting to shoot in. With quintessentially-Edinburgh townhouses and a lane that’s often said to be Edinburgh’s prettiest gem, Stockbridge offers a dreamy set-up for couples looking to capture some special moments together.

Cue the lovely Abi and Darren. I had the most fun hanging out and capturing this gorgeous duo. These guys are so full of energy and love for one another! Our stroll around Stockbridge was the perfect way to spend Sunday afternoon.

If you’d like me to capture some photos of you and your special someone around the city, I’d love to hear from you! Send me a message here to get the ball rolling.

Couple Session | Isle of Skye | Jemma + Saf

Despite the Isle of Skye being one of my favourite places in the world, it’s not often I get the chance to make the trip north and explore this magical, misty island situated within Scotland’s Inner Hebrides.

Not only did I get the opportunity to visit for a weekend earlier this month, I also had the pleasure to photograph my dear friends and gorgeous couple, Jemma and Saf. They were both feeling pretty nervous about the shoot; both agreeing that ‘camera-shy’ was a description they’d thrown around more than once to describe themselves. I assured them that all they had to do was enjoy each other’s company! It was that simple.

As with all of Scotland, the weather on Skye provides all four seasons in one day. We battled wind, hail, rain and witnessed glorious sunshine — all in the space of an hour! The craziness and unpredictability of the weather ended up working in our favour though, as what followed were some of beautiful, intimate moments between Jemma and Saf that I felt so honoured to capture.

Portrait Session | Portobello | Shawna ("Exploring Edinburgh")

I very recently had the privilege of meeting the wonderful Shawna of Exploring Edinburgh, a blogger and Instagrammer I’ve followed and admired for some time. Shawna’s photography style captures Edinburgh (and beyond) so elegantly, celebrating it’s rich culture and heritage, not to mention array of cafés, restaurants and bookshops around the city.

Shawna kindly agreed to let me photograph her around Edinburgh’s picturesque Portobello for the afternoon. I was so excited as this is one of my favourite places to shoot people! Portobello is blessed with just over 2 miles of sandy dunes, making the ideal coastal backdrop; everything you need for those soft, dreamy portraits!

After fuelling ourselves with baked goods from local bakery, Twelve Triangles, we made our way to the promenade to begin the shoot. Below you’ll find a selection of images from the day.
